Acceptable Use Policy
Effective Date: February 24, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and expectations for using the LotPulse platform. It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users, including dealership owners, managers, and staff members.
Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your Account.
1. General Conduct
You agree to use the Service responsibly and in good faith. You must:
- Provide accurate information when creating listings, deals, and customer records.
- Comply with all applicable automotive dealer licensing requirements in your jurisdiction.
- Maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance, including OMVIC requirements where applicable.
- Respect the privacy and rights of your customers and employees.
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Service to:
2.1 Illegal or Harmful Activity
- Engage in odometer fraud, title washing, or VIN cloning.
- Conduct predatory lending practices that violate consumer protection laws.
- Facilitate money laundering, tax evasion, or other financial crimes.
- Discriminate against customers based on race, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Sell vehicles you do not own or have legal authority to sell.
2.2 Misuse of the Platform
- Create fake inventory listings, inflated pricing, or misleading vehicle descriptions.
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or content designed to disrupt the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' Accounts or data.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without written permission.
- Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited marketing messages, or phishing communications.
- Exceed reasonable usage limits or consume disproportionate system resources.
2.3 Content Restrictions
- Upload or display content that is defamatory, obscene, or promotes violence.
- Use the Service to host content unrelated to automotive dealership operations.
- Infringe on intellectual property rights of others, including unauthorized use of manufacturer logos or copyrighted images.
3. Security Requirements
To maintain the security of the Service, you must:
- Use strong, unique passwords for all Account credentials.
- Not share Account credentials between users โ each user must have their own login.
- Promptly revoke access for employees who leave your dealership.
- Report any suspected security vulnerabilities to security@lotpulse.ca rather than exploiting them.
- Not attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent any security features of the Service.
4. API and Integration Usage
If you access the Service through our API:
- Rate limits must be respected. Excessive API calls may be throttled or blocked.
- API keys must be kept confidential and not embedded in public code.
- Integrations must not degrade performance for other users of the Service.
5. Pulse Sites (Dealer Websites)
If you use our Pulse Sites feature to create a dealership website, the following additional rules apply:
- Your website content must accurately represent your dealership and inventory.
- You must include required legal disclaimers and disclosures as mandated by your jurisdiction.
- You may not use Pulse Sites to host content unrelated to your automotive business.
- Custom domains must be owned or authorized by you.
6. BHPH (Buy Here Pay Here) Operations
If you use our BHPH features for in-house financing:
- All loans must comply with applicable lending regulations, including Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA) requirements and provincial consumer protection laws.
- Interest rates and fees must be accurately disclosed to customers.
- GPS tracking devices, when used for collateral recovery, must comply with all applicable privacy laws and require customer disclosure.
- Collection practices must comply with applicable debt collection regulations.
7. Enforcement
We may take any of the following actions for AUP violations:
- Issue a warning and request immediate correction.
- Temporarily suspend access to specific features or your Account.
- Permanently terminate your Account for severe or repeated violations.
- Report illegal activity to the appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
We aim to provide notice before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or the public.

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
